Your best-seller? Pondtail Pale, which is an American¬style pale ale with fresh hoppy citrus character. It’s light and refreshing and the US-style is softened by the use of some New Zealand hops to make it moreish.
Your personal fave? Anne and I both like Bitter Entropy, which is our stronger extra special bitter made with all English hops. Personally, I like Polly Paine’s Porter but it is a bit indulgent to drink too often.
Your most unique? NotSo B&W, which is an amber-coloured, creamy and fruity light beer that was inspired by old-fashioned milk stouts with all the dark stuff taken out.
One you wish was yours… Suruga Bay, a very strong pale ale from Baird Brewery in Japan. It’s an inspiration in cold extraction of the delicate hop characters that are missed in boiling and even dry hopping.
What’s next stage for your brewery? Our regular Friday nights are set to continue at Flower Farm tea room in Godstone and provide an opportunity to interact with locals and visitors and shape the future beers. These are augmented by Beer & BBQ events where people get the chance to try our entire range straight from the cask serving themselves. We’re currently expanding and hope to increase our footprint in local pubs and clubs.
Finally, where’s the best place for people to try your beer? The Crown Inn in Old Oxted and The Fox & Hounds on Tilburstow Hill, Godstone are a good starting point. For bottles it has to be Flower Farm, Hop Stop Beers in Oxted or the NISA store in Westerham, where they also sell our beers fresh from the cask.
