Tante Marie Culinary Academy is the UKs oldest independent cookery school and has been based in Woking since 1954. Set in the beautiful surrounds of Horsell Common in a stunning Victorian town house with majestic gardens, a course at Tante Marie makes an idyllic treat whether it be for a day or for a year, doing our internationally acclaimed Cordon Bleu Diploma.
No matter what the economic conditions or unpredictable British weather, one fact will always reign true: we all have to eat! Leading the way in professional and amateur culinary education, Tante Marie is a great choice for those with a strong interest in food who wish to develop their interest, or even pursue a career in food.
Tante Marie is owned by Gordon Ramsay, Andrew Maxwell, the schools Principal and Lyndy Redding, of Londons leading events design and catering company, Absolute Taste. These impressive links to the industry mean that Tante Maries courses are constantly being updated to ensure that our graduates are learning the skills and knowledge that they need to pursue careers at the highest level.
While Tante Marie provides shorter courses from one and two days for those with a passion for food who simply want to learn new skills and ideas, the academy is most renowned for its Cordon Bleu diploma course which is designed to offer graduates all the skills and knowledge required to pursue a career in food.
Combined with a new qualification, created by Tante Marie and now being offered around the world, the Level 4 Diploma in Professional Culinary Arts, Tante Marie students will graduate as some of the most highly qualified professionals working in the hospitality industry today. With heavy emphasis on practical experience, Tante Marie is entirely dedicated to equipping our pupils with all the necessary skills required to work in a professional kitchen or domestic environment alike, and can offer graduates a step into a rewarding career.
With the cost of university spiralling more than ever, students are looking for alternatives which offer real career prospects, or Gap Year opportunities which, whilst fun, are also actually useful from an educational and employment point of view!
In addition to this we are increasingly finding that our Intensive Cordon Bleu Diploma course is popular with professionals who are seeking a career change.
There will always be a demand for people who can cook!
