Once called The Rats Castle, the last four years have seen a complete transformation at 80 Sydenham Road and the owners of re-named pub The Albany are justifiably proud.

What?
A Victorian pub with the feel of a modern bar. Low level leather sofas and high bar tables create a mix of drinking areas and the high backed chairs in the restaurant make a cosy dining option. Dark woods and bright red lighting warm the pub during the winter months and the outside drinking area at the front and the secluded dining area in the rear garden make it a special place all year round.

Where?
The Albany is close to Guildford Castle and its grounds and just off Guildford High Street, which is packed with fantastic shops and the ever popular farmers market on the first Tuesday of the month.

Why?
As well as serving award-winning Sunday roasts, the bar offers classic cocktails plus a selection of wines from around the world with 20 available by the glass. Three real ales complete the picture with old favourites from Timothy Taylors Landlord and Wadworths 6X making regular appearances.
