Whether looking for a traditional cream tea, exotic coffee or delicious cakes, taste was vitally important but cost, convenience and choice were also high on the list…

And the winner is…
The Dabbling Duck, Shere
Judge Professor Andrew Lockwood says:
“As a relatively new operation, the Dabbling Duck has achieved an exceptionally high standard and shows a huge amount of professionalism and enthusiasm in everything that they do. The presentation of the food and the display of cakes is outstanding and an exceptional level of care and attention to detail is everywhere. The standard of service and product knowledge was also very high from every single member of staff. The environment is lovely and quirky, if perhaps a little cramped in places, but everything you would expect a tea shop to be and there is a well laid out spacious garden area too. This is a very, very good operation.”
Highly commended:
