The winner of this award would be a place that never fails to keep the kids happy, without forgetting the parents and grandparents

And the winner is…

Waters Edge, Horsell Common

Judge Jo Oates says:

“Owners Aneke and Dan have a very special venue, with an air of magical dust in the air. Nestled deep in a wetland on a transformed mushroom farm, the setting is idyllic and welcomes all from dog walkers to ladies that lunch to large or small family groups etc. Bottles of complimentary water are available for breast feeding mums, blankets for the decking if you get chilly, dog towels for the furry ones if they go swimming and on occasion for the children if they take an accidental dip! The menu is substantial and inspired by produce from their farm and local suppliers. On summer evenings, there’s nothing better than watching the sun set over the lake whilst sipping a glass of ice cold Prosecco and munching on Aneke’s scrummy tapas menu. Waters Edge welcomes families, is run by a family - and I look forward to returning for a spot of rounders one evening next summer.”

Highly commended:

The Cricketers, Horsell

The Bletchingley Arms, Bletchingley
