Surrey lager with real chocolate essence goes into pubs for Valentine’s Day

With perfect timing, a locally brewed chocolate lager will be on the bar in a number of pubs in Surrey and across London ahead of Valentine’s Day.

Indeed, Montezuma’s Chocolate Lager, brewed by Hogs Back Brewery in Tongham, claims to be the world’s first chocolate lager.

“It’s the perfect drink for couples,” says Rupert Thompson of Hogs Back Brewery. “Beer lovers will appreciate the craft lager, brewed with five different hops, while chocoholics will be won over by the chocolate aroma and taste.”

The beer was developed with artisan confectioner Montezuma’s Chocolate and contains a natural essence from its ‘Lordy Lord’ dark chocolate bar.

The result is a light, refreshing lager with a subtle, but unmistakeable, chocolate flavour.

Locally, you’ll find the beer at The Rose and Thistle in Frimley Green, The Drummond in Guildford, The White Horse in Haslemere, The Marquis of Granby in Epsom and The Botanist on the Green in Richmond.
