When Paul, Victoria and Becky set up The Hothouse Café they wanted to create exactly the kind of place they would like to visit themselves.
A background in customer service and a love of good food were the foundations on which this family trio have built a café popular with food critics and regular local customers, with a strong enough appeal to draw visitors from further afield. Named after the restored Victorian hothouse within the walled garden of The Medicine Garden, Cobham, the Hothouse Café is chic and uniquely styled.
Honest, fresh food crafted and served with love
The Hothouse Café is a charming meeting place, a delightful space to enjoy one of a range of teas and coffees.
Well known as a popular breakfast destination, Paul, Tory and Becky ask, “why not start each day like it’s your birthday”? It’s a tempting thought.
At lunchtime The Hothouse Café fills with families and friends, sharing a relaxed meal. A popular choice is parma ham, chargrilled nectarine and ricotta salad – lovingly created under Tory’s watchful eye, colourful and exciting on the palate.
Topping the lunchtime bestsellers is the savoury tart of the day, fresh and warm from the oven and served with a salad garnish, it is a perpetual favourite.
Particularly special is Afternoon Tea, a carefully crafted creation of finger sandwiches and cakes all served on a retro chic cake stand, particularly special when ordered with a glass of Prosecco.
