Multi-Michelin starred chefs Michel Roux Jr and his father Albert Roux have teamed up with Epsom Downs racecourse to bring fine dining to the Investec Derby Festival this June.

Chez Roux on the Prince’s Lawn will bring a budget busting bistro-inspired offering to the world-renowned horse racing festival on Friday June 6 and Saturday June 7.

“I am delighted to be involved with the Investec Derby as this race meeting is a major part of the British social calendar and I feel immensely proud to be showcasing our food at this prestigious event,” says Albert.

The Investec Derby Day on Saturday June 7 remains one of the most famous events in the world’s racing calendar and the Investec Derby, in its 235th year, is the UK’s most valuable race worth £1.325 million in prize money.

Albert and Michel will produce a menu created exclusively for the occasion with a series of signature dishes.

Guests at the pop-up restaurant will be able to enjoy a four-course meal, including dishes such as English asparagus, hen egg, feta cheese, aubergine caviar and truffle dressing, followed by an assiette du bouché - roast fillet of beef with mushroom, pork belly with apple sauce, venison sausage with mash potato and onion gravy, lamb chop with ratatouille or the choice of a plateau de fruits de mer.

Entry to Chez Roux on The Prince’s Lawn will also include a complimentary bar, Champagne on arrival and a full traditional afternoon tea as well as VIP after-party tickets.

Michel Roux Jr took over the running of Le Gavroche - the first UK restaurant to be awarded one, two and three Michelin stars- in 1991 from his father Albert and gradually changed the style of cooking to his own – classic French with a lighter, modern twist.

Demand for places at Chez Roux on the Prince’s Lawn is expected to be extremely high and prices start at a premium £549 per person.

The restaurant is available for lunch during the two day Investec Derby Festival. For more information or to book your table, call 01372 477747.
