A taste of festive cheer at Priory Farm Christmas Food Festival

PUBLISHED: 15:10 09 November 2015 | UPDATED: 15:10 09 November 2015

Surrey’s very own Silent Pool Gin will make its first appearance at Priory Farm’s annual Christmas Food Festival in November.

Now in its seventh year, the Festival will give visitors the opportunity to taste and buy the gin, which is produced a just few miles away at Albury and was named the Food and Drink Innovation of 2015 at the recent Surrey Life Food and Drink Awards.

“We’re really looking forward to having Silent Pool Gin at the Food Festival this year,” says Will Edwards, manager of Priory Farm Shop.

“Our customers have been asking us to stock it and we’ve listened, so now even more people will have a chance to discover its amazing flavours.”

Taking place this year on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November, Priory Farm’s annual winter celebration of food and drink is a draw for thousands of foodies and families from across Surrey and beyond. There will be plenty of tasty samples on offer too, ranging from award-winning pies and delicious naturally-seasoned crisps, to West Country ciders and all the jams, jellies and condiments you could ever need for your Christmas spread. With around 40 different food and drink producers expected over the two days, visitors will be spoilt for choice.

While the adults prepare for the festive season by placing their orders for free-range Kentish turkeys with the butcher and picking up one of Priory Farm’s splendid hampers or other delicious gifts, the little ones will be eagerly awaiting the arrival of Father Christmas. In what has become a favourite Priory Farm tradition, Father Christmas will descend the hill at 4.30pm on Saturday to greet the crowds and check his list.
