• Best Independent Food & Drink Retailer

Sponsored by Artizan Interiors

Boz’s Fruit & Veg, Woking

We have just experienced the hardest time due to the pandemic. As a grocery business we were extremely busy. We were able to maintain our stock levels at a time where other larger stores would have no stock. We communicated well with our import agents and continued to run a smooth operation even although is was the hardest and tiring of times.

Canakin, Reigate

Swapping the city to follow my dream of opening a patisserie was ten years in the making so I’m beyond flattered and humbled to have earned this nomination in our first year. Our customers’ appetite for cinnamon buns, salted caramel macarons and coffee is what puts the smile on my face when I get up in the early hours to bake.

Deli Class, Horsell

We are humbled to be a finalist in the Independent Food & Drink Retailer category. Authenticity, simplicity, freshness and flavour in our food, and honesty and fun in all we do are our fundamental values. We are grateful, and thank Horsell and Woking communities for their custom and nominations.

We were thrilled to hear that we are finalists in this year’s Surrey Life Food & Drink Awards! However, we are looking forward to opening our new Ripley-based distillery in the coming months and look forward to welcoming customers there. Thank you for our nomination.

The Surrey Coffee Company, Walton-on-Thames

With permission from Elmbridge Council, we continued to stay open selling fruit, veg and household essentials, this allowed us to continue trading and give back to the community that has supported us. We posted videos daily detailing what we had in stock and provided a delivery service to those who were vulnerable and effected by COVID-19. Creating community spirit when people felt isolated was the sole goal and we couldn’t be prouder to have helped.
