A mouthwatering range of local produce, enticing layout, colorful characters and great customer service are all key to a good farm shop and, as such, our criteria for judging this award. Here are our finalists...
“We are delighted and honoured to be in the final three for this prestigious award and thank our wonderful customers for voting for us,” says senior manager, Charles Secrett. “We work tirelessly to ensure our farm shop is the best it can be. This is tough in a challenging food retail and economic environment. We are, however, a real farm shop with our home-grown produce at our core and we were one of the first market gardens in Surrey. Serving our local community since 1979 has been an absolute pleasure.”
“We are a traditional, family-run working farm and strive to fill our shop not only with fresh produce from our own farm, but also support many small local farmers and producers,” says farm shop manager, Emily Walker. “Our shop, as with the farm itself, changes throughout the year as we bring our customers the best of each season’s crops. We are passionate about good food and drink – which is essential as these make up 100% of our stock. We are very proud to be nominated.”
“It truly is an honour to be recognised in these awards again,” says department manager, Natalie Forster. “We love everything that SLFDA encompasses and really enjoy being a part of the great event. We are very proud of what we do and so grateful that our customers continue to vote for us. This year marks 60 years of Priory Farm – we’ve come a long way and hope to continue evolving and improving on everything that we already offer, but the bones of the business will always remain the same.”
