All Run Reigate runners were encouraged by the RGS House teams who manned 4 water stations around the route and made sure that people kept hydrated and healthy.

They were also on hand to shout calls of encouragement when exhaustion started to set in. RGS Fifth Form student, Oscar Subuh-Symons ran the 10K as part of the Changing Lives team and finished as the fastest under-18 runner in the whole race and in 4th place overall with a fantastic time of 37:41.

Run Reigate set a competition to design the medals and this was won by RGS students Olivia Prophet (Upper Sixth) and Hamish Massey (Fifth Form). They were invited onto the stage to present the cups to the male and female winners of both events.

RGS Students also made time to entertain spectators and runners during the event when ‘Outside the Box’, a Fifth Form band (Ben Silverman, Milo Stephens, Sam Molyneux and Daanish Smellie) performed during the morning under the RGS gazebo by the café.

Sean Davey – Director of the RGS Foundation said: “A huge thank you, from Reigate Grammar School to all those that ran in the Reigate Run 10k and half marathon events on Sunday in aid of our Changing Lives Bursary Campaign. Well done to Shaun Fenton (RGS Headmaster) on completing his first ever 10k and also to RGS Staff and other members of the Reigatian community for flying the flag”
