Notre Dame School provides a caring environment in which each and every girl is given the opportunity to reach her full potential.
Notre Dame School provides a caring environment in which each and every girl is given the opportunity to reach her full potential. We are a mixed-ability school which achieves outstanding results due to the quality of pastoral care, dedicated and committed teaching and hard work on the part of the girls. The school is set in 17 acres of beautiful, rural parkland and caters for 700 girls from BlueBelles Nursery (coeducational) to Sixth form.
This is confirmed by the excellent examination results achieved by the senior girls at both GCSE and A level. Indeed the school has achieved 100% success rate for the last five years.
We aim to provide a well-rounded education where girls can excel in sport, music, drama and other disciplines as well as their academic pursuits. An extensive extra-curricular programme is offered which includes the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, Young Enterprise and Community Service.
At the Junior end same site, set in 17 acres of beautiful, rural parkland - Notre Dame Preparatory School and BlueBelles Nursery caters for approximately 350 girls aged 2-11 and boys aged 2 - 4 years old.
The curriculum has breadth, depth and relevance. It is an enhanced version of the National Curriculum, designed to provide a truly rounded, challenging preparatory education. The girls learn how to get the best from themselves and grow in motivation to excel, enjoy and achieve.
Notre Dame BlueBelles Nursery follows the curriculum guidance for the Foundation Stage, which prepares the girls and boys well for their future learning and development. Children at BlueBelles have their own classrooms and outdoor play areas but, as part of a whole school, they have access to a range of facilities and specialist teaching staff for music and French. The older children also have a weekly library session with the school librarian and enjoy swimming in the school pool with our swimming teacher. All these activities take place within the 17 acres of beautiful school grounds.
The school has many strengths and explores every facet of academic life. Like the Senior School, the Prep is known locally and nationally for its strengths in drama, art, music, languages and sport. A brand new 370 seater Elizabethan theatre has just been completed with state of the art facilities for all pupils and parents to enjoy the highest quality productions.
One of the highlights of Notre Dames achievements is the Choir and Orchestras trips to Budapest, Rome, Bordeaux and Venice, as well as our most recent tour to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia where the girls sang in the famous Cathedral.
The school is part of a world-wide educational organisation, founded in Bordeaux in the 17th century by Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac. The Company of Mary Our Lady is the oldest recognized educational order, devoted to the teaching of girls. The school welcomes families, of all faiths, who wish their daughters to grow in a dynamic, challenging yet caring environment.
