Since its foundation in 1905, the Leith Hill Musical Festival has attracted eminent musicians to Dorking to hear the local choirs joining in song.

Guests have included Sir Hubert Parry, Imogen Holst, Herbert Howells, Gerald Finzi, Sir David Willcocks, who was festival president from 1978 to 2005, and more recently his successor, John Rutter.

This year, the festival season begins on Sunday March 11 with Handels Messiah and his Sing Unto God will be a rousing end to this annual concert series at Dorking Halls on Saturday April 14.

In another highlight, on Thursday April 12, Karl Jenkins recently named the most popular living composer in the world will be the special guest at a performance that will feature his Gloria alongside Faurs Requiem.
