In the Red
When talking about AW Fashion, most people think it means goodbye to vibrant hues and hello to dark colour palettes, but we’re here to challenge this preconception by proving that bright colours are suitable for all seasons. One of the predominant AW17 colour trend in our stores is red, and we’re not just talking a subtle red accessory, but instead a complete pillar box red ensemble. Zara have a ravishing ruffled sleeve red tunic, perfect for pairing with thigh high boots and a leather jacket for when things start to get a bit chilly.
If block colours aren’t your thing, why not embrace bold colours through prints? The glorious summer fields may be dying out, but floral print is more alive than ever! You might have to ditch the sandals for trainers and the bardot for a jumper, but a pair of floral flares from River Island are perfect for easing you into the new season gently.
Another way to make the summer to autumn transition a little easier is to keep hold of your favourite summer trend but tailor it to the new season. For example, one of our summer highlights was festival fashion. Glitter, sparkle and metallic have made an appearance in every outfit, and you’ll be pleased to know that doesn’t have to change! Pair this metallic blazer from Topshop with jeans and high heeled boots for ultimate winter glam.
If glam garments and floral prints are a little too dainty, why not experiment with trends with a bit more attitude? Masculine tailoring and heritage wear are key trends this season. Think sharp silhouettes, tweed, checks and precise detailing. Wide shoulders and casual fits give these trends variations on your individual go-to uniform, encouraging idiosyncrasy and allowing you to create your own character and personality.
