To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 2018, this year’s Beautiful Surrey photography competition theme is ‘capturing the Surrey Hills’

The prizes:

The winner will receive £500 and membership to the Surrey Hills Society.

Their winning image will also be the 2018 Surrey Life calendar’s cover shot – it will be joined by 10 more images from the adult comp and one from the children’s comp.

It will also take pride of place at our annual photography exhibition at Denbies Wine Estate, Dorking in 2018.

The rules:

Images must be landscape-shaped and at least 300dpi (and over 2mb in jpg format) in size.

They should capture the very best of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (from countryside views to architecture/sculpture in towns and villages etc).

Open to both amateurs and professionals, photographers can submit as many pictures as they like.

How to enter:

You can enter as many photos as you like via surreylife.co.uk/photos or feedback@surreylife.co.uk.

Deadline for entries is Saturday October 7th, 2017.

Like the Surrey Life Food & Drink Awards, the first Surrey Life Photography Competition launched in 2013 - how times flies!

  • Could you please clarify the terms of the competition. The ones found on the "Upload" page state rather bluntly: "By submitting any material to Archant, You automatically grant Archant the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, edit, adapt, publish, ... distribute ....such material (in whole or part) worldwide ..." If these are indeed the rules, that's pretty penal.
