The weekend is fast approaching and for those still deciding how to spend their Friday through to Sunday, we pick five of the best ways to spend your weekend in Surrey

1. The Ripley Event, 22 July

As villages go, Ripley already has an awful lot going for it (from top-end cafes, restaurants and pubs to bustling boutiques and pristine countryside) but they also have the Ripley Event every summer - a perfect celebration of village life. Entry is free and the event starts at 1.30pm.

2. Guildford Cheese & Chilli Festival, 22-23 July

Calling all cheese lovers! This weekend, an array of local (and international) cheeses and chilli food products will be available to try and buy from Guildford Cheese & Chilli Festival. Dorset Mobile Bars will also be on hand to serve thirsty festival-goers an extensive list of ciders, beer and wine and there will be live music to enjoy whilst you feast on Cheddars, Roquefort, Camembert and more.

3. Eat! Food Fest 2017, 22 - 23 July

Reigate’s Eat! Food Fest is organised by Surrey Life Food & Drink Awards judge Philippa Ratcliffe. It returns to Priory Park’s sunken garden on Saturday July 22 and Sunday July 23 where you can expect a number of street food traders, chilled summer music, a Ginpourium (we’re already sold) and plenty of child-friendly activities too.

4. Shakespeare’s As You Like It, 21 - 22 July

Cross-dressing comedy in the setting of Guildford Castle Grounds; what’s not to like? The performance will be taking place at 7.45pm and tickets cost £14 for adults and £12 for children. Get your tickets here >>> http://bit.ly/2u56Mek

5. PYO at Garsons Farm, Esher

Esher’s Garson Farm is the country’s largest pick-your-own farm, but it’s also joined by the powerhouse producer for pubs and restaurants Secretts in Milford; 20 different crops at Crockford Bridge in Addlestone; and, the smallest of this selection, Flower Farm in Godstone. Opening hours on Saturdays are 9am - 6pm (last entry 5.45pm), and opening hours on Sundays are 9am - 5pm (last entry at 4.45pm).
