One of Surrey’s best kept secrets, the High Clandon vineyard will be marking the launch of their 2009 vintage cuvées with an exhibition by a number of noted Surrey Hills artists.
Owners Sibylla and Bruce Tindale will be hosting sculpture and art in the vineyard and gardens near Guildford from Saturday May 25 to Saturday May 31.
“We hope that this will become an annual art event which draws on the creativity of people of the Surrey Hills,” says Bruce.
High Clandon launched their first Quintessence – their English quality sparkling wine vintage 2008 cuvée – last year and it sold out within six months.
Marking another first, there will be an ultra-brut cuvée which is an elegant crisp ultra dry wine alongside their main brut cuvée.
Clandon artists Terri Smart, Iona MacKenzie Laycock, Liz Sherras Clarke, Lesley Garbutt and Adam Aaronson work will grace the grounds alongside that of Liz Hauck, Anna Pohorley, Jeanne Argent, Sara Holmes, Carol Orwin, Helen Pittick and Nikki Taylor.
