Whether looking for a traditional cream tea, exotic coffee or delicious cakes, taste is vitally important but cost, convenience and choice are high on the list, too… We present our finalists for the Tea/Coffee Shop of the Year award 2017

The Dabbling Duck, Shere

“The Dabbling Duck team are thrilled to be a finalist in this category,” say owners Cathy Garthwaite and Christina Collins. “Since winning last year, we have continued our mission to provide great customer service and high quality food and drinks. All our food is made daily on our premises using locally sourced seasonal ingredients, meaning it is as fresh as could possibly be. We are all passionate about what we do and judging by the wonderful feedback we receive, this is really appreciated by our many loyal customers.”

Dotty’s Teahouse, Carshalton

“At Dotty’s we pride ourselves on being the ultimate destination for tea, cake and all things quirky,” says owner Rebecca Mackenzie. “Known for our nostalgic afternoon teas and locally sourced menu, we strive to ensure that we provide the best experience for all of our guests – and being a finalist in the Surrey Life Food & Drink Awards has definitely made all the dedication and hard work worthwhile! We are very proud of our lovely teahouse and we are so grateful to all of our loyal customers who have supported us from the beginning.”

The Green Rooms, Godstone

“I’m not sure about anyone else but when I got the phone call saying The Green Rooms had made it to ‘finalist status’ I squealed a bit – I may have even done a little dance!” says owner Sylvia Crimi. “It really is a fabulous feeling. There is nothing else out there that encourages and supports local businesses in the way Surrey Life magazine does. We have always strived to make everyone feel welcomed and relaxed and fed the tastiest food I can make. I think it is our ‘you are in our home’ approach that makes us different from others, oh and the food!”
