Archant

From wine to cheese via watercress, beef and even ice cream, Surrey has some amazing and often overlooked producers working away in fields, farms and garden sheds. Our winner would offer a very special taste of Surrey

And the winner is…

Albury Vineyard, Albury

Judge Kenneth Bare says:

‘Any business can make life difficult for itself, but by choosing to establish Albury Organic Vineyard as not just organic but also biodynamic, Nick Wenman and his team have positioned themselves in a very specific part of the English wine scene. It’s working! The products look and taste good, and they are appearing in lots of local pubs, restaurants and retailers – as well as more distant, premium locations such as Raymond Blanc’s Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons. With other nearby producers, there is also the vision of turning the area into a local food and drink hub – a brilliant opportunity for Surrey artisan producers.”

Highly commended:
