Heads and Tales: The Many Faces of Elmbridge

Full of portraits and life-stories, Heads and Tales: The Many Faces of Elmbridge is the new exhibition at Elmbridge Museum, opening from Saturday November 8 to Wednesday January 21.
Heads and Tales celebrates the Borough’s diverse residents, both past and present. Meet shopkeepers, musicians, celebrities, politicians, artists, actors, teachers, entrepreneurs, pub-landlords and many others besides.
“Human nature compels us to be intrigued by the people around us," says Cllr Jan Fuller, portfolio holder for leisure and cultural services. "We love to find out what stories lie behind a face, and Heads and Tales reveals many colourful characters”.
Heads and Tales tries to get to the bottom of who creates that ‘sense of community’. The volunteer who runs your sports team? The historian who keeps the past alive? Or the person who empties your bins? Above all, is Elmbridge more than the sum of its parts?
