Local producers featured in this article:

Tillingbourne Trout Farm, Guildford Road, Abinger Hammer
This family business smokes its own fresh trout, all caught and processed on site, as well as eels and Scottish and wild Alaskan salmon. They also sell smoked fish pâtés and game.

Denbies Wine Estate, London Road, Dorking
Denbies is Britain’s largest wine estate at 265 acres. There are 12 wines in its range, several of which have won awards, and they are available in the shop, by mail order or from selected outlets.

Bramble Farm, Shere Road, West Horsley
Poultry has been reared at Bramble Farm since Dickens’ time. Now a free-range turkey specialist, the welfare of their birds is paramount. The farm sells direct and to many local stockists.

Secretts Farm Shop, Chapel Lane, Milford
At Secretts, which celebrated its 100th anniversary this year, seasonal crops are harvested and sold fresh every day. They also supply restaurants, wholesalers and other farm shops.

Old Cart Lodge, Dunley Hill Farm, Ranmore Common
Cakes made by the Old Cart Lodge are available from stockists including Budgens supermarkets and farm shops Secretts in Milford, Village Greens in Ockley and Kingfisher in Abinger Hammer.

Norbury Blue, Norbury Park Farm, Mickleham
The farm produces its own un-pasteurised, vegetarian blue cheese, Norbury Blue, and the new Dirty Vicar. They supply restaurants and shops including Garsons farm shop in Esher and Denbies in Dorking.
