Welcome to 2009
Above: Bringing in the new year
Okay, so a new year lies before us - welcome to 2009. From the outset it looks pretty bleak, economically and at the moment weather-wise (depending on what your feelings are about snow) but there is still plenty to look forward to, so don't get too disheartened...
In Surrey, we've got a whole host of massive anniversaries to celebrate, with the likes of Hampton Court Palace, Kew Gardens and Surrey Wildlife Trust all in on the act (find out more in
January's Surrey Life magazine)
Then there is further exciting culinary potential on the horizon. 2008 saw a number of celebrity chefs enter the fray in Surrey, with both Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver getting toe holds in the county. Pennyhill Park's The Latymer looks like it could be set to join Surrey's current Michelin starred restaurants (read
Surrey Life's guide to eating out in Surrey for more). While, our very own
celebrity chef Tony Tobin promises to pull a few tricks from his hat this year (definitely one to keep an eye out for!).
Of course, there is a whole lot more too and we at
Surrey Life promise to continue to bring you the goings-on throughout the year - so keep an eye out for the magazine in shops and the odd exclusive or three online...
